About the Prints

All of the images displayed in this gallery are available for purchase as museum-quality fine art archival prints.  The prints are produced by the state-of-the-art LightJet printer on Crystal Archive paper with either a matte or glossy finish. I also use Epson printer Ultrachrome Ink which is independently rated to last 75+ years without fading. Papers Available:Hanemuhle Photo Rag,Epson Velvet Fine Art Paper, Epson watercolor radiant white,InkJetArt Canvas, and Epson Canvas, Epson Premium Luster Photo Paper. All mounted prints are personally hand-signed by the photographer.

The highly compressed jpeg images seen on this website simply cannot do justice to the level of fine detail and beautiful colors in the prints.

LightJet Prints

The LightJet printer is the current standard for fine art prints, to which all others are compared. The LightJet directly exposes true photographic paper using red, green and blue laser beams. The prints are processed through traditional photographic chemical techniques and are regarded as being among the sharpest photographic images available. In addition, Fuji Crystal Archive paper is one of the most archival photographic materials made, rated by Wilhelm Imaging Research at over 60 years without fading or color shift. This easily exceeds the longevity of fine Ilfochrome (a.k.a. Cibachrome) prints at 22 years, and typical Ektacolor prints at 14 years. A good overview of LightJet prints can be found here.

The EPSON Stylus printer represents the next generation of printers that will produce some of the world's most exciting photographic prints.

With 7-color EPSON UltraChrome™ Ink* technology and an advanced print engine design, the EPSON Stylus®  wide-format printers deliver phenomenal color and professional level black-and-white photography.

The Cibachrome prints

My original photographs were printed using the classic Cibachrome process.

I chose this method (nowadays known as Ilfochorme) for its richness of color, depth of image and unparalleled stability. As digital printing technology becomes more widespread, few master printers now have the skills and knowledge of this process.

Though they have a unique and striking appearance, prints of this type take time and expense to produce. Cibachrome prints are now use only for the best images, since the increasing rarity and archival life of these prints make them a highly collectable art in the world of photography. These prints were made by one of the last few labs in the country to produce Cibachromes, Image creations here in Memphis.
